Default Heatseeker (Cyber Trance)

Song from the forthcoming album. Slightly different style of trance than I've dabbled in previously, and I'm pretty happy with the outcome. Started out as industrial/hard house, and halfway through I concocted a lead which totally changed my whole plan for the track. Watch for the change at 2:55 in.

I might add vocals to it later... maybe... I dunno. Tell me what you think.

I like what you're going for melodically, but at times the percussion can seem empty, especially in the beginning when you're building stuff up. It seems like your open hi-hat sample is just a shot of white noise, which is pretty clever but it can't really work by itself. Aside from that the track works really well, the synths all work well with each other, and it's in a non-standard melodic mode which is always appreciated by me :P

Yeah, I do agree with you about the drums. I'm probably going to rework them a bit before I'm totally satisfied with it. I tried a bit of layering with them after I was almost done with it to try to spice the drums up a bit, but it seems like the main hat just wooshes right over everything else. I spent half an hour just going through snares and claps looking for the right one.

Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah, I might drop the mastering level down another dB and turn the overall volume down a bit. It's a tad on the loud side, like my songs tend to be. They never clip or anything, but... I dunno, I heed the words of Tony Montana in Airheads: "If it's too loud, you're too old!"

Or maybe I'm too deaf.

And yep, some definite Sota and/or Andromeda/Plasma inspiration.

It's catchy and hardcore. I wouldn't exactly call it cyber trance. More like psychedelic trance. It's very loud and screechy though. Please tone it down

Screechy? What do you mean?

Also, this definitely is not psy trance, but the genre doesn't really matter that much. Cyber trance a la Sota just happened to be what it reminded me of more than anything else.

He's probably referring to the white-noise samples

cyborg trance lol. the more i listen to it though, it sounds alot like L.E.D. just not as aggressive. but as with everyone else, the first 10 seconds feel very empty.

A lot of times, the sounds come at high frequencies (at least on my soundsystem). And it is very loud (which is Ideal, because I am looking for good trance to play for a party, this would work ^_^), and not really mp3 player friendly, unlike Until Forever (although I "edited" that with audacity, I don't remember what the original sounded like).

Anyways, I really liked it, and it is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than anything I can make ^_^.

Oh, and P.S., it kinda sounds like spiral galaxy in a way...

Sounds great
Lots of movement in the track itself and you can hear it. The percussion levels strike me as slightly... odd. Especially the open hat. On another note, that bass is amazing!
