History of the AMEN BREAK

Everyone should know this breakbeat. But I'm sure not nearly as many know what it's called, or even know where it came from. Here's a video that should tell you a bit more about it.

I already knew a little bit about the break thanks to, like Dark said, Ishkur's EDM site, but this video is informative and eye-opening, to an extent.

It makes a great point that nothing is absolutely original, but rather, like most other things related to our cultures, new things are achieved by adding onto what previous pioneers have already discovered.

However, that should never mean that works of any kind are free to be copied practically verbatim, so to speak -- rather, it's a common code of courtesy that most experienced innovators seem to share... until it gets stifled by the more powerful, the richer, the less knowledgeable.

People must realize that we wouldn't be anywhere without what has been previously set by those before us, and this video does a good job of establishing that.
