Default Jerem Lim - step one (because I'm gangster too)

I can't think of a better time to introduce the preliminary version of one of the most gangster tracks of all time. I hear it's a big trend in these regions.

step one (preliminary version) by Jeremy Lim: Rap/Hip-hop/Urban Music from West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada | Project Opus

Thoughts, suggestions .. hit me up! (Work in progress, work in progress!)

ME FIRST!

Ok, everything sounds great so far, especially like the synths. The string Staccatos feel a bit empty but i'm sure it's because it's missing the vocals. Who IS doing the vocals btw?

Vocals? Not sure yet! Does it really need it?

Staccatos empty - as in reverb needed, or lost in the mix? Or even worse, that section isn't put together right?

Empty in the sense that i felt there wasn't enough meat to chew on. That's what i think personally, but then again i'm not big on hip-hop and RnB ^_^

Ahh .. I can definitely appreciate that.

Unfortunately, I've gone and taken the approach that less is more. I think you'll notice that in the stuff I do. lunatic divide really only had two different pianos, a guitar, one drum kit, and Glitch for the time-stretching effects... then again, it's much more complex in structure, or so I'd like to think.

Thanks for the input, though! Anyone else? I'd love to hear it. Hit me hard.

lol. your synths are cool. This is perfect for one of those corny dancing songs. I'm not saying its bad, but it sounds like those type of songs.

Haha, that was the idea. Watched Step Up with the girl, and this came to mind.

You're probably right Jer, less is more, and I can definitely understand that now ^_^

Only in some cases ... here, I personally think it works, but that's not always the case! (On that note, I'm still layering more in. Just have to do it tastefully so it doesn't cheese out in the video game direction.) Thank you, though.
