Default Matduke - Empowered Music - New Freeform/HHC/WTF Mix

What is up y'all? Decided to poop a new cool mix for the pre-launch of poopcore.net, more nice stuff coming soon there. I bought the domain and webspace so now I'd better do something out of it eh? Anyways this is a mix with some of the tracks I rate the most in hardcore right now. For those who don't know me, this isn't traditionnal happy hardcore and it is not mainstream freeform, so this might surprise you. Hopefully, you'll all get addicted to this mix. /grins

Wow, some real top notch tracks in this mix. Good choice with Cube::Hard, he's one of my favorite artists right now. Great mix, some stuff I havent heard before.

It's nice to know someone else around here likes Hardcore.

thanks a lot man, appreciated! - yeah, I work on promoting some of the latest UK/finnish/US hardcore, but at the same time, I try to keep my tracklists underground and surprising

about cube::hard, yeah, I've been after this guy since 2004, a kind of hero for me, back when he was called stargazer; he has done a long way since then, but he always did wonderful works engineering tracks for Raw Elements and several other labels.

Right now, Darwin, Kurt and Cube::Hard and Orbit1 (formerly The Acolyte) are the one to keep an eye on for those who like this style of hardcore!

Not bad really nice mix good transitions no problems here. I just want to know what really makes this mix different from others I've heard I know every DJ throws their own little thing in but I want to know what makes this really out of the ordinary as you say.

Holy shit, I wrote a huge reply and lost it all because I got logged out.

I'll round up.

It's a good question. First of all, a little something that is good to know is that all the tracks have been purchased (except The Acolyte's ones, that are free on his site). The mix is recorded on real decks... mixer/turntables/cdjs. So no piracy, no automated mixing (this shit stinks anyways).

Now compared with other legit DJs, I'd say that I mostly work my tracklists. I spend 2-3 hours per day on hardcore forums/online records/mp3s stores to refine my track selections for gigs. Yeah, the point of this mix is to promote good, underground hardcore, tracks that aren't commonly heard in clubs and in studio mixes. It's also to inspire newcomer DJs, producers and of course, to give people something to listen for free. I might mix crazy sets with 30 tracks in 60 minutes in the future, old school sets or back to back collaboration mixes with other local hardcore DJs when my new website is ready.

This mix will also be on a promotionnal CD I'm giving out tonight at a rave I'm playing, featuring Luna-C and some Toronto DJs. Hopefully, people will enjoy it.

Is Cube::Hard the same Stargazer as the one that made Ultimate High? If so, he is now even cooler.

Yep, that's him.

He is totally cool!

But what mix are you talking about, the Pumped up breeze & styles joke or the old original version?

The original one.

EDIT: Actually wait, isnt the Breeze & Styles mix completly different from the Pumped Up mix? Cause I dont think i've ever heard the REAL Original, just the B&S one.

Basicly the original one is kind of old, a bit outdated compared to today's new stuff.

For a record release they got Storm and Spinback to do a remix and Breeze and Styles to do the other. Funny thing is that from what I've understand, Stargazer made a joke remix of his own tune to show how easy it is to sound like Breeze and Styles. Fun thing is that he had no costly gear at all. He only uses softwares, when Breeze and Styles have very expensive synths and a huge studio.

Anyways, try the Storm and Spinback remix, it's wicked
