Besides running most of the label, I also produce and mix music, under the name "dj rhythmics", and I frequently do live dj sets in the Hollywood/Ft. Lauderdale area. Over the years I've mixed and produced everything from french house to turntablism, but now a days I for the most part stick with UK Hardcore, Hard Trance, and J-Core.
Like most of you guys, I was brought to this site many years ago because of my love of bemani games, and from there I stumbled on to this forum.
Glad to be part of the forums

I first came to the site because I got simfiles for Stepmania here. I started posting in music production after I got into writing songs with FL Studio and wanted to learn more/show off my work.
I'm too part of Betancourt Music. I compose mostly trance/hardcore and dabble in other genres. I'm still trying to find "my sound." I've had work featured on O2Jam and ITG Rebirth.
Right now I'm working on some tracks for upcoming releases through Betancourt Music, some soundtrack tunes for a couple games being developed by friends of mine, and trying to get started learning how to DJ or perform.

I started on his site because I used to really really like DDR, but now I stick around because the people are cool, hehe. The only reason I got into producing electronic music was because of DM Ashura's intervention, which I am very thankful for. Life would be incredibly boring otherwise.
I use FL Studio 7. VST's I like to use are Edirol Orchestra, ReFX Nexus, and dblue Glitch. I have a Korg Kontrol 49 midi keyboard but I really suck at using it, pointing and clicking is faster.
My music is whatever comes to me at the time, and is heavily influenced by everything I listen to. I like to be expressive and mellow but often intersperse it with pretentious nonsense.

One day in early May, I completely lost everything on my hard drive including my previous songs I have created, so I thought restarting would be a pain, and am pursuing a new interest: singing.
I am a lyricist and a singer. I play around with singing styles. One song I may sing a deep as Cher, other times I may pitch up my voice to sound like Madonna. It depends on how I feel at the moment.
My lyrics style may be offensive to some. I try my best to act out against society. I challenge American morals and standards in my lyrics. My lyrics can be anywhere from my ongoing disagreement with the War in Iraq, to topics relating to sex.
I really don't have any more to say about myself.

My name is Chris. As an artist, I'm known as Sir Real. I'm a member of the hiphop duo/trio (depending on if G-Force is DJing at any given time) Juggernaut Glitch (yes, named after a glitch in Marvel vs. Capcom 2). I'm also part of a larger group/label called Bru. We were working on a second Bru album when a couple of our members ended up moving to Orlando for business. So, they decided to do their own project there, and the two of us that remainded here formed JG.
I rap, and produce. I also play guitar and bass. I'm interested in and try to involve myself in as many types of music as possible. Like a bunch of us, bemani games brought me here. I'm pretty grateful to IIDX for introducing me to a bunch of genres (the ones that are legit, that is...not Africa and Happy and Hindu Salsa and such :P). I'm a sponge. I don't know that anybody listens to music the way I do--I'm analytical, but I feel the music more than anything.
I dream of being able to play drums, and to harness my voice melodically.
Technical difficulties have delayed the album release. I intend to have it done before year's end, though. It's been way too long.
Software currently in use:
Reaper v. whatever Justin put out this week
Rosegarden
FL Studio 8
Phrazor
Favorite synth instruments:
Independence (Free)
sfz
Linuxsampler
Ganymed
Plugsound vol. 1-6
SR-202
Other stuff I can't really get to because it's on my desktop that's broken

I really suck at making epic crazy music and i usually make hip hop beats(lololol) and generic stuff. I'll probably never make insane music like some people on the BMS forums. But who knows, maybe my shell will break and allow me to think outside of the box.
I make albums and give them to my friends. I like making rnb songs with the Cher effect because i find it fun.
I been using FL studio since 6th grade on and off. I started out just making rap beats(kicks, snares, no melody) and i did it for a while. I really got into FL probably when i hit the freshman year in highschool. I'm still learning about EQing(actually i dont know anything about it) and all that mastering jazz.
I played violin for a year and really sucked at it. I have no musical experience but i want to learn the piano so i can kick arse. Also, I'm learning a lot more and I believe that i have progressed greatly.
Here is what i use:
FL Studio 8
Nexus(mostly)
3xOSC(learning how to make my own stuff)
Vanguard
V-station
EZ Drummer
Edirol Orchestral

Total Tokens: 352.27 Donate Tokens | Dain Olsen, better known to most as Beatdrop. I've been producing music for nearly 8 years now. Originally got my start at a very young age by getting hooked up with Hammer Head drum loop creator, and I toyed around with it a lot. Before all that, I was a rock and concert percussionist for a number of years, so drum programming came naturally to me. Looking for a better, fuller alternative, I stumbled across FruityLoops (which was then just about to get updated to version 2.7.2), and started making my own songs with the demo. They were horrible, although I still have all of them.
Roughly six or seven months later, when I was actually starting to get the hang of working with FL, I came across OverClocked Remix ( OverClocked ReMix - Video Game Music Community) and quickly got involved with the video game music remixing scene. My first remix is garbage by todays standards, but at the time I was fairly happy with it. Anyway, my big break came a month later or so. I started talking to Matt Pollard ("mp") in the #ocremix IRC channel, and we decided to collaborate on a remix. I made a number of .wav drum loops using FL, as well as some synth lines, sent it all to him, he arranged it with some orchestral backing, and then contacted Sean Stone ("Ailsean") to provide guitar work, and "House Hornet" was born. To this day it's considered to be a "legendary" song from the video game music remixing community. Particularly back at the time it was released, 2001, it was utterly groundbreaking and in a tier of its own.
Today, I mainly focus on producing my original works. As most of you probably know, I was one of winners of 2007's Konami Song Contest and so my song "Until Forever" was included in DDR Supernova 2 and Universe 2. I've also provided music to O2Jam (which I still haven't been paid for, actually) and a number of other smaller organizations/projects. I was initially going to get involved with ITG, but decided against it for reasons I don't recall. I think it was the legality of the whole thing that I considered daunting. I was also involved with the DanceTrax project while it was still... alive. Lord only knows what's going on with it now.
Setup:
FL Studio 8
Sound Forge 7
A bunch of VST shit
Logitech USB microphone

I'm mostly into remixing tracks, but I only post things that I feel are relevant (i.e., won't post a Tears For Fears - Shout remix... not that I've made one...)
I work with a pretty tight-nit group of local experimental musicians. We do lots of weird stuff. MySpace.com - Ryi - CA - Electro / House / Big Beat - www.myspace.com/ryiremix (add me!)
I'm not really one for genre-labeling, so I can't tell you what "style" of music I stick to. I just do what I want, and if it turns out good, I post it.
As far as "equipment" goes: Acid (for sequencing my percussion) and FL Studio. I also use Melodyne whenever possible because it's just so awesome. Whenever I'm recording vox, I use this Logitech headset mic... I got it for free, and it has really awesome quality lol.
I've been trying to get my name out when it comes to remixes, so if you have a track that you want remodddellled, be sure to contact me!

There was a small period of time where I stopped playing piano and didnt really do anything musical. The day I started playing DDR everything changed. I loved the music so much I decided to take the piano up again and start experimenting with music creation. Being influenced by artists such as Naoki, TaQ, Taka, etc (from bemani), Super Green X, Daft Punk, and others (seriously.. there is a huge list.. so I better not really post more :P), I began to develop my own style and sound. I started producing music soon after I began using Finale Notepad; I wasn't big on sheet music and I wanted something more serious. Soon I found OcRemix, and I found a section called "How to Produce", or something similar, and I read up on a few of the DAWs I saw there. I ended up picking FL Studio, and I've had it ever since. :D
I produce mainly whatever's on my mind... I think I only have big success with trance though. As far as VSTs go, I actually pretty much use strictly 3xOsc and WaspXT, but occasionally I'll use NI Pro-53 or Z3ta+. And of course soundfonts and pianos and things. Oh and for samples, mostly just VEC2.
