What genre do you consider it?

Isn't the bass a little on the quiet side?

Otherwise, it's great. Better than what I can do.

Genre? I consider it experimental electronic music. You can call it IDM if you want.

The volume of the bass, I suppose, depends on what you're listening with. The bass is pretty rich on the headphones I am wearing, though it's definitely not up front.

Really interesting sounds, but I don't really sense a direction of any sort. This could be an interesting soundtrack to something, but by itself, very slow progression keeps me from listening to it again.

Maybe Im just not into this kind of music

PS: Bass sounds fine on my monitors. If anything I would say turn the drop kicks a little lower.

THAT'S WHAT I WANTED TO SAY, not the bass. The bass wasn't an issue... Sorry.

It certainly covers a lot of terrain, but I hope you're exagerrating, since I'm not sure how you wouldn't see direction of any sort here. It is subjective, though, I suppose.

Eh, it's rather supposed to be something to lay down and ponder to or float along with, or perhaps something to admire the beauty of and muse over. It's a particularly emotional piece for me. It was an attempt to capture some complex emotions. Perhaps that just makes it easier for me to get into it.

This very well may be the case.

I think he means that there's no melodic flow. It almost feels like the whole song is one gigantic section, instead of many different sections that corespond to the next.

While I would argue that it clearly has very different sections, I would also agree that the song does sustain a specific general mood for its duration. It is, indeed, entirely musings on a single (albeit complex) idea.

Well, I for one like this kind of music (I got a taste for it after listening to all your other stuff back in the day :P).

Very nice mood and progression. I like all the little effects here and there. Very nice

Also, for some of the other peoples comments.
Just because it doesnt have 1 drum loop that goes on for 50 million years, doesnt mean it doesnt have direction or flow.

Speak for yourself there, because thats not what I (or probably anyone else in this thread for that matter) define as direction or flow.

The percussion work is excellent. There's so much contrast between ambience and hard beats and it sounds great, I love the transition at 3:15.

The acidy synth at 3:40 doesn't make any sense how it's presented, though, there isn't much of a transition to introduce it. That's the only thing I really have against it.

Unless I delibrately attempt to analyze his song, I don't think I could differentiate one section from another (I know I'm exaggerating though).

EDIT: Don't get me wrong though, this is still a cool song.

Very experimental lol. Your drum work is cool and doesn't bore me with all of its variation. Nice use of FX's. Reminds me of Emotional Joystick. Same as Eshmasesh said, the acid synth is a bit random. Nice track.
