Default Rave On The Roof (Megaman 2 Intro Remix)

Alright, so basically, my friend is DJing the dance at an anime convention this year (in 2 days) so I decided I would make a sweet intro for the dance. I decided to remix the intro to megaman 2 in to some sort of dance track. (Yes I used a IIDX sample... its awesome :P)

Anyways, let me know what you think. I recently bought some monitoring headphones and I took a little longer than usual to tweek stuff. I'm hoping the production is alot better than usual.

First and foremost: anything Second Heaven is win.

Production's definitely a lot cleaner than normal, but the high ends are killing me. It feels like most of the sounds are in the top half of the audible range.

The synth could really be dropped an octave down. It almost lacks presence because it's so high, and it becomes a bit harsh on the ears, especially as it leaves the song when it goes to it's very peak.

On a stylistic note, why did you opt to go for a piano instead of chiptune for the intro?

For the purposes of the convention, I think this is going to do great ... it's just a bit shrill with the note placement.

hmm.. you told me that these headphones would lower the highs didnt you? lol Maybe thats why. I upped the high frequencies at the end of the mix chain. I forgot about that :P.

Also.. SOMEBODY'S CREAM! is awesome lol.

Thirdly, I took out the chip tune cause.. I just couldnt get it to fit right. so yea :P.

Well ... sexier headphones = sexier sound = flatter response = probably less bass, and more high end in my experience ...

And upping the high end would have been good, yes .. but it's too ... high ... I was afraid to turn it up in fear of something really high coming out and BAM! I'm Frankie Wilde.

The intro sounds like it would break into a rock song, hehe.

I'm loving this though- this is really good

To be honest, I wish the lead synth was more intense- it sounds to simplistic for something this epic. Needs somes low frequencies. On that note, the high frequencies are hurting my ears, although I'm listening on speakers.

Otherwise man, great work!
