In regards to this, take importance of one thing:

AVOID STUFF FROM MARKUS SCHULZ

Only listen to stuff from him if you want to be sadistic or if you want to cry.........because his music and the type of trance music that he plays is the opposite of what you are looking for.

Anyways:

Heard this song at Lovefest '06, I could have cried.
Stuff from Above and Beyond is already your answer right there.

These include:
Alone Tonight
YouTube - Above and Beyond - Alone Tonight

Home (Above and Beyond 21st century club mix)
YouTube - Above & Beyond - Home (Above & Beyond Club Mix)

I swear the female vocals (you can also sense her british accent as well) along with the uplifting melodic tune will send you to the heavens

----------------------------

Here's another one:
Spread your wings by System F (aka Ferry Corsten)
YouTube - ~System F~ Spread Your Wings

The most uplifting & melodic tune I've ever heard from him.

Another tune:
YouTube - Veracocha - Carte Blanche 2008

Veracocha - Carte Blanche (Ferry Corsten and Vincent De Moor)

Anyways, there are lots of tunes out there

Hope that helps

Apparently,

A lot of songs from BT (Brian Transeau) are focused on the uplifting side:

Songs like Flaming June (although this is more on Epic Trance which may bore you a bit if not used to it) are neat.

But personally, I'd go for Mercury and Solace which is my favorite from him.

I think it's in his "Binary Universe" CD album (I think)

--------------

Also, look for Clear Blue Water by Oceanlab

Both the original and the Ferry Corsten remix are awesome

Remember though that it's "Clear Blue Water" and NOT "Underwater (Oceanlab remix)" (for the latter is from Delerium and it is dark.....which is not what you're looking for).

Also, try Ian Van Dahl (but not Castles in the Sky)

Look for "I can't let you go" and it's quite progressive so it's all good.

In any case, I'll post the rest of the other suggestions later as well as its respective youtube links (since I can't access youtube on this computer in school).

Stay tuned

I'll post up some YouTube Links here in a bit but as far as Electronic music that inspires me:

BT - The Great Escape (Carmen Rizzo Chillout Mix) This song has a personal meaning to me and my fiancee and will always be my inspiration .

Ocean Lab - Satellite Amazing Vocals in this one 'nuff said.

Ocean Lab - Clear Blue Water same as above

Hixxy & Styles - The Theme I don't know exactly what makes this song so amazing but it brings about some pretty neat visions and ideas.

Non-Electronic

Sunrise Avenue - Fairytale Gone Bad This and its Blush Gone Bad Remix are really great.

I'll probably get some crap for this but whatever

Linkin Park - Crawling Haha the reason for this one is when I was younger my friend and I would stay up all night to try to see this songs video on mtv that usually aired around 4am most of the time, since then its pretty much been a neat little thing to remember and listen to.

I could be here all day giving you songs that inspire me, so i'll keep it as short and sweet by for now picking just 2. Sorry in advance if this eats up way too much of your time, ha!

YouTube - Jamiroquai, Too Young To Die

Jamiroquai are probebly my favorite band, and have been for a long time now. I've liked pretty much everything from them- From their early Acid Jazz days all the way up to when they went a bit more Disco/ Funk, but this remains one of my favorite songs. Partly because of the message behind the lyrics, and the awesome Trumpet and String work is addictive as all hell. It's second only to Virtual Insanity, but picking that one would've been to obvious since that's probebly one of Jamiroquai's best known songs and pretty much everyone that's heard it loves it.

YouTube - Mint Royale - Singing in the Rain HQ Full Original Video

Being someone that listens to Trance and various form's of Electronica a lot, i'll be the first to tell you a lot of 'ReMixes' are appaliong, lazily made and tasteless peices of 'music' that are usualy way to Bass Heavy. This is an exception. Now, i love all kinds of music me, so i have listened to, and quite enjoy the original Singing in the Rain, so i can tell you that this is really faithful, and in some ways almost dream like. The only real problem with it is it is WAY to short. But i'll let it slide...

Agreed

You can't go wrong with those.

Also look for the Above and Beyond song entitled:

Tri-State (take note that this is also an album from them containing the same name)

You mean "they" as in Veracocha (Vincent De Moor plus Ferry Corsten)?

Well I don't know about you.........but I believe that it is one of the best epic trance songs ever created (along with For An Angel from Paul Van Dyk)

So I'm not sure as to what you mean by that?

-------------
Oh and something to add:

Ligaya - Gouryella (aka Ferry Corsten plus Tiesto)

*Interestingly, in the language of my country, the word "ligaya" means happiness.

So there, it's no one wonder why this song promotes happiness and inspiration.

-----------

P.S.

Btw, sorta off-topic:

I'm not sure if all of you are aware of this.............but:

It appears that Ferry Corsten and Tiesto are planning reunion gigs.

More like the reunion of Gouryella.

I think I announced this before
