Default SUDDENLY, HARDCORE

Really wanted to know if I can do something hardsounding and not melodical. Here's my first attempt.

Sir, I approve.

I'd like to point out that your production work is incredible. This sort of stuff is brutal to EQ right. I love how you've got that stuff panning around at the beginning.

The only thing that sounds off to me is the vocal sample used at 0:27. The kick goes into an off-time stutter, and the vocals sound a bit out of place. Maybe stutter them in time as well?

After the build-up at 1:20, you might want to try some subby synth work, ala Pendulum. It continues on, but it's not like an explosion ... you've got guys screaming, and there's no huge BOOM.

The ending build is fantastic too. Might be a bit abrupt, but it works.

Beyond that, I love what you've done.

P.S. Your percussion rocks.

I am confused what hardcore is now.... isn't this hardstyle?

anyway, the production quality of this song is THROUGH THE ROOF. Excellent!!
This totally reminds me of like, a remix of some song from jet set radio.. (though its not, i know it would fit).
anyway, i really enjoyed this, thanks!

This is definitely more hardcore than hardstyle .. but that's based on my impression of hardstyle. Hardstyle to me means hard trance and hard house and all of its derivatives.

I think hardcore is like gabber. And I think it's pretty safe to say that this sits in that category ..

Then i guess "UK HARDCORE" is a whole new genre and not just hardcore from UK.. (Or hardstyle as you'd say.. :S ) hardstyle is gabba etc.
p.s sorry to turn this topic into a debate of what hardcore is >_<

Hardcore is generally techno with a BPM of 160+ from what I've gathered, which includes Gabber, Hardcore Techno, and Happy Hardcore

Wow

Sampling is incredible. The melodies you pulled off with the kick at one point was REALLY nice. Overall Im super impressed. I wish I could pull of hardcore like this.

I've only heard Lawnwake, but from that, I think Vospi is far above Flashbulb ..

I forgot to say I thought this track was pretty well produced, it's hard to make hardcore kicks not interfere with bass but have them both sound good in the mix. I don't really like this style of song though, nothing personal, just not my thing.

Needs more cowbell.

I kid.

Seriously though, you're production on this sounds really good, but there's something about it that just doesn't seem to have enough roar for me, especially after you have the vocal sample of people yelling. It feels as if the entire song is building up to something that's not there, and because of that, parts of it sound empty. Your precussion and kicks though, are deffinitely top-notch. Nice job on the production, though if I were you, I might destroy the female vocal sample just a little more to match the overall grittiness of the track.

I went back and listened to this the other day ... it might help not to use the vocal sample so much. Gives it more oomph when it comes in.
