Default Two Generic Trance WIP's

I've been working on a couple of "generic" trance tunes, meaning I'm trying to make it sound like other trance and not my own thing like I've been doing. These are just for fun, I'm not really taking them seriously, but I'd like to know if anybody thinks they're worth a damn and I should continue with them or not.

Please, I'm not looking for comments on the mastering or how my kick drum sounds cause I don't really care about that aspect at the moment.
But if you think I should continue either song, please tell me if you think any of the instruments sound good/bad, how you like the progression, any ideas of how i could continue it, etc.

1-Very interesting stuff, I like the rhythmic nature of the synth. that you used on your saw, however, I will say, that I do think it comes in a little overfiltered. Also, your 4-on-the-floor beat that you bring in comes feels like its out of sync with the lead synth- like it comes in on the second measure instead of the first. same thing happens when you bring in a lesser extent. Could be because I'm hearing notes that you use as pickups and hearing them as if they were the start of the melodic progression. altogether, not bad at all.

2- I feel like that moving synth doesn't fit with the others, from the beggining- the inherent bending of it makes it seem offkey. Midway, it splits off into what seems like a completely different song. Which I don't like the beggining movement of the synth for (technically, not melodically). IMO, the first one was better.

In both of them though, as rai says, the bass lacks character.

I agree with the filter comment about the synth in the first song... it doesn't sound very full. The progression doesn't sound very interesting, though... I think it's because you drag the middle section on too long ^.^;

The second could probably be split into two, the first half could be an ambientish trance track (get rid of the kick?) and the second a more dance-ish trance track.
