yeah okay so basically everything i've got nowadays is in some state of incompletion. since no progress has been made on most of this shit in quite some time, i figure i'll throw it out there anyway. this collection of work spans several different DAW environments that I've used. additionally, a lot of these clips are very hasty arrangements. I typically will have several different parts of a track done and just put them together without much of a transition and export it to see what friends think of it.

in (rough) chronological order from oldest to newest:

made in beast/bse:
push - strange world (remix)

made in csound:
twofish
transit

made in energyXT 2:
i stole this melody from some guy who works at robotspeak in san francisco
anti-anti (cover of "anti-anti" by snowden)
this door does not open
sonora
separation anxiety
dawn to dusk
kelly - shoes (outlet mall remix)
00:43
of stones and wolves
saturday
talk to me

made in renoise:
BEN JAMMIN
glass houses
separation anxiety
autopilot
untitled (samples "here" by hellogoodbye)
let's do and say we didn't
the culprit stands down
pretending I'm winged
what it do :3??!?!
the beta takes the alpha

:3

Okay, this bugs me. A lot of this material totally schools everyone else in this forum, and no one has anything to say. It would be nonsense for me to say much on here, personally, since I talk to the guy on a regular basis. It seems pretty ridiculous to me that this thread has over 70 views and no notable replies.

If you guys are still bitter over the nexus thread, you are fucking babies. Change your diapers, dry your eyes, and give a listen to some of the most gorgeous and expertly-crafted music to ever be posted here.

For instance, start with "untitled" under renoise. :3

It was the only real reason I could think of as far as why this thread was getting utterly ignored.

Way to miss the point. <3

A lot of threads are ignored on here. Doesn't mean people aren't listening, and I dont need be on here sucking Visinins dick to let him know his music is nothing short of amazing (Which it is, and I've expressed this in other song threads hes made). And if he wants attention, he can ask for it himself, and I know at least I would be one person giving it.

Not to mention of all the people who commented on the Nexus thread, Visinin was the LEAST offensive.

I listened to most of the stuff. It's mostly good quality just needs to be finished, you know? Also, I'd suggest using autotune with your vocals. And don't use glitch so obviously (I could only tell in a couple songs, so maybe they were your first experiments with it)

though i am familiar with dblue glitch, i do not have it installed anywhere. that's all straight renoise "export to sample" + reslicing. bah on glitch for making the sound so commonplace, i'll have to see what other flavor i can mix into my technique.

also, yeah, i'm not really throwing this out here to fish for complements or anything of the sort. honestly I just felt like I hadn't posted anything in a long time and I had recently uncovered a lot of my old work, so I had a lot of fun going through them and remembering how they were conceived, what other things were going on in my life at the time, etc etc.

i should say that, in all of the clips above, the only sounds that I cannot trace back to their creation are the percussion, and everything else I can talk about the process behind it.

ps: thanks, chemist <3

I couldn't recall exactly since it'd been a while since I listened. The song I though I recognized it in was "pretending I'm winged" from about 0:53 to 1:00 sounds like the same BS presets everybody who loads up glitch on their system uses. I mean I can tell you actually put time into slicing on other songs, so I didn't understand why it sounded like you were using glitch so blatantly.

yeah you're like the second person who's said that, actually, and thanks for bringing it up. i'm going to be going back to redo that part anyway, it was sort of a last-minute "oh hey wouldn't this sound cool" decision.
to be honest, I hadn't really sat down and listened to how glitch actually sounds before people started comparing my slicing to it, so now I know what to avoid.

Nice stuff, mate, no question about it. I really dig autopilot, Talk to me, and glass houses. Your skill at production is truly top notch and your grasp of synthesis is tight as hell.

One Question, though, that I would really like to have answered:
Where is Twofish? You sent that to me back when I was still the red rebel and I remember loving it, but I no longer have the file.

i hate glitchy music so dont hate me for not liking noise. Untitled is pretty awesome melodically. I just don't like all the glitchy sounds but that's just me.
