At :55, when just the piano is playing, there is very obvious clipping. It sounds fairly bad. At 1:23 it feels too busy, too much stuff going on and the volume levels are almost all the same so I don't know what I'm supposed to be concentrating on. Plus there's almost no bass....that depresses me ;-; The kick drum feels too basic as well. The ending was sort of non-existant as well.
I'd suggest lowering the supporting synth's volume greatly, it will help focus on the piano. You might want to try lowering the synth an octave as well, see if it makes it sound bad or better because you need bass. I'm guessing you used fruity loops (THE DEVIL) to make this, because the piano sounds like a bad preset due to the clipping. It sounds fine except for when it's alone, so you might want to completely change that part if you want to avoid it. I'd also put a reverb effect on it, to make it sound more full. Add some more diversity to the composition, everything is constantly repeating itself and it's a little too repetitive.
I know exactly how you feel, by the way...one year into my music, I felt like I had only slightly improved since I started and I hated everything I did. Once I got into 1 1/2, I suddenly just started to get it and vastly improved.
