Default Anyone help with headphone/earphone connectors?

I have these Phillips in-ear ones, and I really like them. Really nice sounding, However, my problem with all headphones/in-ear ones is that suddenly it'll almost spontaneously stop working. It usually just like stops work on one side then after a few days both sides will wear out. I think it usually deals with the wire connecting the pods to the connector, since wiggling will either help or hurt the sound. Any tips? It seems almost spontaneous, it's not like I chew on the cord or constantly move it or mess with it. Can anyone explain why and help me prevent this? It happens around ever 1 to 2 months :/

Probably because of them being old... Or because the wires are all fuzzed up. (?!)
Try getting a new pair of said headphones. It happened to me too when I used to listen to music on a CD Player.
So just get a new pair and give great care to the wires.

it sounds like the wire is wearing away. a new pair is your best bet.

To keep wire's from wearing away, don't wrap them around your player. Fold them and then tie them. This lets the wire last longer. My last pair of headphones lasted 5 years like that.
