I'm just saying it seems so odd that a year ago, they had all this for so cheap when a year ago, I dont even think they started touching on smart shader 3.0 or anything. But yeah, this shouldnt have even been started and this thread should go back to topic. |
Haha I am curious as to why you sport Intel over AMD. I'll admit Intel's current Conroe Core 2 Duo kicks Amd athlon X2 and FX 62 's butt in every aspect, but I am more of a practical person and I stick to AMD's better bang for your buck tradition.
Processors happens to be my specialty because where I work I deal with them. I wanna hear ur input as to why u sport intel over amd. I wont argue with you on nvidia over radeon.

Marketplace Rating: 4 | Im a person of the tradition that AMDs run too hot, and my house runs too hot, in addition, I dont think they have a solid chipset. Ive never seen an AMD box impress me.
As for ATI? I gave them a chance when I got the p2 that replaced the burnt k6. I gave them another shot about 10 years later with my thinkpad
they fucked up both times.
I wont be buying from them again unles I have to

Marketplace Rating: 1 | So i presume your preference of intel over amd is based on the ability to push chips to their limits? I don't really overclock my cpu so I guess you could be right then.

AMD chips, in my experience, heat quicker, cool slower, and give less power/heat than Intel chips.

For the purpose of this thread, i've seen many many insane computers
I actually know this guy and he won best case mod for the past 2 Quakecons.
Specs:
Motherboard: Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe nForce4 SLI-x16 Chipset w/7.1 Sound, Dual Gb LAN, S-ATA Raid, USB 2.0, IEEE 1394, Dual PCI-E MB
CPU: AMD Athlon-64 X2 4600+ CPU w/ Hyper Transport Technology
CPU cooler: CoolerMaster Liquid CPU Cooling Fan System Kit
RAM: 2048 MB
HDD: 300gigs
Video card: 2X Nvidia GeForce 7900GTX 512MB w/DVI + TV Out video
CD/DVD Drive: 1 All in Wonder drive (Blue-ray, cd writer, dvd writer. Every imaginable write technique)

So yeah, that's the best computer i'll see in a while.. | Actually, in my experience, the intel chips more than hold their own when actually having work thrown at them. an Intel chip is lazy till you push it. AMD chips are snappy until you push them then they just act as toasters.
The core 2 chip blows AMD as a whole away anyway.

Intel is if you just want to have the best out there.
AMD suitable for gaming
Intel suitable for multitasking video editing etc.
