Someone please tell me that there is a way that I can redirect someone to another page when they go on a certain site. I'm really desperate. The problem is that a certain member of my family keeps using my computer (which I paid for with my own money) to download certain files from a certain P2P site.
***Mods, please don't lock this thread for discussion of illegal activities, I'm trying to stop it from happening, not promote it ***
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is a way that I can redirect him to a web page on my PC, for example, whenever he tries to go onto these sites. I want to make it look like the site is down, or has been closed down, so that he'll just give up his evil ways, and not let my PC run all night when I'm trying to sleep.
If there is any question I've asked that needs answering, it's this one.
P.S. I use IE6 (I can download 7) and Mozilla Firefox 2, OS Win XP Pro.

Open the hosts file which is in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC with notepad. Add a new entry to the bottom that says Code: 127.0.0.1 website here 127.0.0.1 is the local IP address of your computer. Where it says website here enter the website. Such as www.google.com
I would actually add two entries for the site. Code: 127.0.0.1 www.google.com
127.0.0.1 google.com That way both www.google.com and google.com both point towards your computer. You would just enter both of the lines at the bottom of the file on their own lines.

I'm really grateful guys, thanks for the help.

After installation, visit http://localhost/ (equivalent to http://127.0.0.1) and change C:\lighttpd\htdocs\index.html to whatever you feel will compel the offender to give up. For something simple like this, you probably won't need to configure much.
[Edit]For safety, you may want to block port 80 from external access so your ISP won't find out. They won't have to know.

Does LightTPD turn itself off when I log off, because I always have to turn it on in order for the page to come up.

To activate LightTPD on startup while keeping it under wraps, I recommend adding a registry entry. (Cue obligatory "edit the registry at your own risk" warning.) Open the Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run and add a string with the value "C:\lighttpd\sbin\start-lighttpd.bat" (with quotes). Hopefully he won't notice the command prompt.
