Mine only seems to run hot when I'm playing a game or watching a movie. How do you tell what temp it's running at, is there something in Windows that tells you?

I'm not sure, but I've noticed that too. You could always stick a oven thermometer (sp?) in it? Just kidding, though now I'm curious if that'd work...

I've seen some novelty (I think they were, at least, that's what my dad would say) fans for the inside of the CPU that change color with the heat/cool. I guess the more the color changes, the hotter it gets?

Other than that, I don't know much else about Computer Temperatures, but I wish you luck in finding your answer. ^_^

RMClock will only reduce your idle temperatures drastically, 45C is a decent value for a Laptop computer. Keep in mind that it'll shoot if you load your CPU.

Glad I could help.

Get SpeedFan, its free. If its only running hot during those situations then its doing what it should.

I run vista 64. my computer runs faster, uses less power, makes shit happen when I want it and is vastly more secure. Give me a reason to actually run XP. Please.

Yeah, I just figured that out. And I'm guessing there's no way to keep temperatures down on a heavy load without lowering the max CPU settings.
