Default Converting VGA to Analog Video/Audio

Since S-Video is being replaced by HD alternatives like HDMI, VGA, and DVI, I was wondering if there's a cheap way to convert a VGA (and/or HDMI if possible) video/audio signal to a Composite Video/Audio signal to go into CRT televisions, or S-Video if converting to Composite isn't possible. I have two HDTVs in my house, and none of them are in convenient places for Laptop Dual-Screen, so I'm looking for some kind of converter that works.

These look exactly like what I want:Amazon.com: 7 Inch VGA Adapter to TV S-Video RCA Out Cable: Sports & Outdoors
Amazon.com: VGA Adapter to TV S-Video RCA Out Cable for PC Video: Electronics
I highly doubt these work at all though, since there's no converter box or anything to convert the signals. These are probably just bridges or something to go into a converter box.

Keep in mind that VGA is VIDEO only...you aren't going to GET audio from a VGA signal. That will be in a separate cable, probably RCA straight-through or a 1/8" cable to RCA adaptor/cable. The only video medium that is going to get audio with its video in the ones you mentioned is HDMI because it includes it completely in its bandwidth and cable.

Anything I've had experience for in terms of converting VGA to anything standard def being S-Video in quality or lower went through a VGA-to-TV convertor box, which generally is about 100 dollars or less in retail depending on where you go and generally doesn't do too bad on the convert at that price. Ironically, the other way around going TV to VGA costs much less, usually, and generally doesn't have as good a quality.

Anything outside of a convertor box I've not tried. All I know is that they work.

Those are bridges for laptops that support them. And the vast majority of laptops that support those haven't been around for years (Although, thanks for the reminder, my Thinkpad R60 *MIGHT* support those seeing as it doesn't have a dedicated S-video port).

You're going to have to use a converter box.

Composite and S-video are the same thing, except the signals are split up across more lines, tie pins 1 and 3 and pins 2 and 4 together and you instantly have an Svideo to composite converter.

If you want laptop dual screen, do the right thing and purchase an inexpensive computer monitor. TV out on laptops tends to be dismal at best, and small TVs are very bad at displaying computer resolutions.
