Default A couple PC mobo questions

I'm trying to find a good mobo for Intel Core 2 Duo chips on Newegg, but I don't want one of those ASUS boards with all that extra WiFi access point / multimedia shiz I'll never use on it. If anyone can recommend me one, please.

However, on the Intel P965 Express northbridge boards, there is a little warning:
"Notice: Only DDR2-800 memory supporting JEDEC approved 1.8V operation with timings of 5-5-5 or 6-6-6 is supported on Intel Desktop Boards based on Intel 965 Express Chipsets"
Is this required or just recommended? The memory I chose has timings of 4-4-4-12 and its 2.1v. Granted, I know nothing about what this all means, I just want a working system.

I would think that failing to acknowledge those notes would cause long-term problems if you don't notice it within the first three weeks.

Not sure what you mean...

I'm probably just bite the bullet and get the ASUS P5W DH DELUXE/WIFI-AP LGA 775 Intel 975X ATX Intel Motherboard. I don't think the 975X has memory problems, but I noticed alot of these ASUS boards have issues with the BIOS when using a newer CPU with an older BIOS (some people cant even boot their PC before they get a chance to update the BIOS). I guess I'll just hope for the best.

For the record, here is the memory I'm choosing:
Newegg.com - CORSAIR 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail
And the CPU is the E6600.

When I was gonna do a system overhaul with C2D, I was so confused lookin at the mobos. I just flat out gave up and saved my cash for a later time.

EDIT: I'm not a moron either, I've done system builds before and servicing.
