Default DIY Memory Stick Pro Duo mod/adapter

So I read online about a DIY project that'll let you make your own Memory Stick Pro Duo adapter w/ just some tape & a paper clip. I was wondering:

1.) Should I try this?

2.) Where/what would be a good place/brand to get?

3.) How much do they usually cost?

I'd like to know soon so I can fill it in time for Christmas when I get my PSP.

I think every MSPD we've bought has come with an adapter to make use for just the MSPs (Pro Duos were the smaller ones, right? Forgot about this stuff). Pretty sure Sony ones do.

1GB sticks can't be too bad now. They used to cost a grip (like 80? that was when I thought they were cheap too) but ever since PSPs have been out, they're like 20 bones at most.

I have a 2GB stick already (& I'll be getting a 1GB w/ the PSP. It's the R&C bundle). I was wondering how much the adapter that makes it so I can put it into a laptop would cost.

Yes, Duo is smaller than Pro.

I think I'll ask my Electronics teacher tomorrow if that DIY adapter that I mentioned above would be OK to do.

Amazon.com: Used and New: SONY MSACM2 MEMORY STICK(R) DUO ADAPTER

there's an adapter here listed for less than $5 after shipping. That's worth the price knowing you won't screw up your card by getting it stuck, putting it in wrong, or anything like that.

My 4GB stick came with an adaptor, I never use it though. Just buy one like Helix said, it's going to be worth it if you don't want to risk losing a card.

Would this work?

BTW, it's a Sandisk brand memory stick that I have. Is it any different from Sony brand memory sticks?

OK, bought it today & works fine. Looks like I'm good.

Ya know, I noticed the Sony brand come with an adapter. & I'll be getting a 1GB with my PSP (getting the Ratchet & Clank bundle). That mean I'm getting an adapter w/ the PSP?

I want to say yes but would there really be a need for one to warrant packaging it along with the PSP?
