Hi, like for some reason Movie Maker got some corrupt file and crap and to avoid risking my laptop and crap I got Sony Vegas 7.0 to make movies (it is used to make movies in the same fashion as Movie Maker right?) So long story short, which has a simpler interface to use for movie making? | |

Never use Windows Movie Maker if given the chance. I don't use either program much but I can say that much with confidence.

Vegas is a bit harder to use I'd guess, but Movie Maker is so terrible, I would take pretty much any other editor over it. If you have access to a Mac, definitely use iMovie over it. | |

Ok cool thank you. I like Movie Maker's simplicity since I only make simple clip by clip videos but its retardation cannot be overlooked. Vegas is the inverse right now to be it seems complex but I'm sure I'll get a hang of it...eventually..
(since I'm here I'd like to make a simfile request. Would anyone be up to the task of concocting "Love" by Sonic Dream? I believe it's one of the more earlier DDR songs) | |

Get used to it. It will be worth the effort. Depending on how much time you're willing to put into learning it, it may not look much better than Windows Movie Maker files, but any improvement over it will show.

I just got Sony Vegas and it's very similar to Sony Acid in terms of layout. For basic clip editing, it's just as easy to use as Windows Movie Maker, only you can export in a variety of video formats, resolutions and bit-rates, as well as a whole load of other video effects other than that shitty default bluebackgroundwhitetext crap you see in WMM. Also Movie Maker only saves in .wmv, which is only used by in the porn industry and jp007. Adobe Premier is also a decent candidate, but it's very difficult to use and it's bloody expensive.

Vegas is great. Suck it up and learn how to use it, you won't be disappointed. I personally prefer adobe's premiere though.

I only use WMM if I can be bothered to make my own title stills, cause I refuse to use most of the built in transitions and titles.
