Firefox.exe Virus/Bug/Whatever + Vent

So by means outside of my controls, a bug/glitch/virus called firefox.exe has ended up on my PC. Obviously this isn't my beloved Firefox Web Browser, but it's casuing my Firefox to not Update automatically, and when it tried it loops infinitely telling me firefox.exe is still operating and will now be closed.

I know this isn't rare, but I seen it regarded as a virus.

Also, I've had a strange problem with my PC where when I speak using vocal program like Ventrillo or Skype, my mic gets locked on. I myself have my Vent settings set to Push To Talk, but sometimes it will not stop transmuting far after I've let go of the button. This happens the most when playing WoW but has happened outside of WoW as well. When this happens, my mouse and keyboard start storing whatever commands I put in during the lock up, and then disburse the commands whenever the transmission decides to end. When this happens, I can start pressing random buttons on my keyboard, typing things doing whatever. As soon as it ends my toon on WoW will start preforming the acts put in, or whatever I'm typing will start flood the screen, etc.

So yeah.

Speaking of Firefox, don't get 2.0.0.2 if you don't have it already. There's a serious Javascript security issue introduced and you may have trouble using the Java Runtime Environment with it.

Ummm... Have you tried maybe deleting the firefox.exe file?

EDIT: if you're paranoid with Firefox, you can rename the REAL firefox.exe into any name you want so that you can identify whether it's a fake process

Removing malware is never that simple, especially when it does this kind of damage.

whoa man. if the problem still persists, try using a different version of firefox (or opera), like flock or torpark.

This is relevent because this has happened to me!

Simply go to Taskmanager go into processes and end the Firefox.exe process


And for removing Viruses. I hate Norton Mcafee because they suck at terminating Viruses

I recomend NOD32 AntiVirus System It hasnt failed me yet, also it killed/terminated 11 Trojans 4 Viruses and 6 Malware. and an Unwanted program and unwanted fake rouge anti-spy programs. Its protected me and my friends
