Default Fixing broken headphones

I always have the same problem with headphones that they eventually only play out of one ear unless you do some wierd wiggling thing to it? Is there anyway to fix this, and if I get a new pair of headphones, stop it from happening in the future?

You're fucked. earbuds are mostly cable and when the cable starts shorting, like what's happening to you, you basically replace everything anyway.

Yeah, I have that problem w/ my headphones where after a certain amount of time, I'll have to mess w/ the wiring near where it goes into the headphones so I can hear from the left side. You'll have to replace them.

For my headphones, I have a lifetime warrenty on my PortaPro headphones from Koss, so everytime my headphones start to short out, I just pay $10 to ship it to them & back & they send me a brand new pair. Beats having to spend $50 each time.

I wound up RMAing them

Is there anyway I can allow them to last for a long time when I do get them back?

Don't cram them in your pocket.

I don't, I cram them in my headphones case :-/ Which probably doesn't help

What is the proper way of storing headphones?

Take 2 fingers and loop them around. When you're almost all the way wound up you slip the connector into the loop and lightly tighten them.

then you put them into the case.
