I'm presuming within a matter of hours since Google's holding a press conference for this in either 30 or 60 minutes. | |

Marketplace Rating: 1 | I just did a page load test using: Test for Browser "Display" Time
the load times for the 3 browsers I use:
IE7: 5477 ms
FireFox3: 229ms
Chrome: 10ms
Yeah chrome rules.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Looking forward to some themes. The blue really clashes with my Inspirat theme.
Maybe they should have included an optional OS integrated theme, however it seems pretty quick so I'm not complaining too much. I really like how it imported everything from Firefox, including the links in my bookmarks toolbar.
EDIT: I also like how the address bar only shows the main address. So instead of saying
"http://www.bemanistyle.com/forum/f47/google-s-browser-chrome-32041/#post453814"
it says:
EDIT 2: Scrolling seems a little weird though. May have to take a look at that.
EDIT 3: So I can't change the scroll rate, nor can I push on the scroll wheel and drag up and down like I could with... well... everything else that scrolls. Hopefully will be fixed in an update.

Also, as is stated in the pitiful excuse for a comic book, loading multiple pages at once (especially with JavaScript) happens much faster than on FireFox 3, Opera 9.5, or IE 8. Unfortunately, smooth scrolling is not an option, and most of the options are either hidden or not available as they are in Opera.
Also, double-clicking the tab bar doesn't open a new tab. That's annoying.
Other than that, though, it's nice-looking. The IE-esque lack of a menu bar is a bit disconcerting, and RClick > View Page Source uses FireFox's source viewer, which doesn't let you actually edit or save pages. 'S one of the things that always kept me on Opera, to be totally honest, and I'm disappointed that the developers at Google Labs didn't take the time to make the Source viewer editable.

If I change something using Opera and hit "Apply Changes," I don't need to bother with saving a hitting Refresh. Opera does both actions for me. Not only that, but Opera can also validate pages as I write them (using the W3C's online source code validator). Very convenient.
Plus, it supports very basic code highlighting (HTML=blue, CSS=yellow, Java/VB Script=red, plain text=black) which makes it slightly easier to read code and find syntax errors.
Back to the point, though, Chrome is awesome except those three tiny flaws which can easily be worked around. I'm sure more extensive use would show other small nuisances, but for now, I give it a whole-heartedly thumbs-up.
End note: If I do end up switching to Chrome, I'm gonna miss Speed Dial. That was a handy little applet.
