Default Having trouble with mouse

Here's my problem: I recently bought a new USB internal PCI hub card. After installing it my mouse keeps cutting out. You'll probably say that it's the cards fault, but my mouse is plugged into one of the motherboards USB ports. Every 5 minutes or so, the mouse will stop responding and I have to unplug it and put it back in again, which gets very annoying.

If anyone could help a frustrated guy like me, I'd appreciate it

System Specs:
Windows XP Professional SP2
CPU: AMD Athlon 64x 2.4GHz
RAM: 2 x 512Mb
Motherboard: ASUS (AM2), that's all I know.

USB internal hub: Belkin USB 2.0, 5-port PCI card.

Ok I removed it and everything's OK now, thanks a lot.

Anyone want to buy a USB hub? Used?
