I need a bitchin' headset

So. My PC has, through three OS installs and a wide variety of driver configurations, never had a functioning mic jack. I have no idea why. This is problematic. I'm sick of putting up with the outmoded concept of typing that my opponents are big gay babies.

I have seen, from a great distance, "USB headsets." How do these wonders work? Can I bypass my problematic mic port? Do I need a dedicated soundcard or is the integrated thing on my mobo good enough? Best Buy has this sumbitch right here on sale this week; ignoring the fatalonethankyou branding, is it any good? If it sucks is there anything better that you care to recommend? Educate me, and make me better than I am now.

I am not a USB headset expert but I am fairly certain it will work despite the broken mic jack.

While I have never used a USB headset, I will say that my solution of a Bluetooth headset duct-taped to my shirt with a pair of headphones works pretty bitching in Team Fortress 2 and other Steam Enabled softwares.

I have had a pair of the 5H V2s for like two years and damn they're good.

Oh and I don't know your situation with your mic input but mine didn't work either so I got the USB sound card. Worked fine for me. I also have the in-ear version of the Siberias and they're really nice. I mention this because it has the same microphone as from the full headphones and the mic isn't the cleanest, but if all you're going to be doing is letting people know how gay they are over TF2 or summat, it should suffice.

(EDIT) Oh and I'm pretty sure not even Fatal1ty uses those headphones.

I think we have a winner. The 5H V2 looks great and it's $75 on Amazon.

I would assume not but I'm not PRO GAMER enough to justify anything really high end vv

Just my two cents/suggestion but if u r looking for a USB Headset, then I'd say Logitech could provide you with a solid one.
