I need to repair my DS... Should I get a DS lite or repair my original DS for $15?

The DS Lite feels like a cheap little toy personally, but get it if you like lighter things.


Oh, and it will cost you 115 Dollars less for a new DS. (Isn't the DS Lite still 130?)

I say get a lite, but that's just me. I'm into smaller electronics anyway, and the DS lite is way more cooler than a normal bulky DS.

Lite is a better form factor if you don't play GBA games. Not to mention the battery is better and (I think) the screen is brighter.

The old DS' brightest setting is the second dimmest on the Lite.

I went from an old style DS to a Lite some months back, and the only thing I miss about the old style is that the D-pad was slightly larger, which was better for high speed Tetris. Other than that, I'm more than pleased I made the switch.

Unless you don't plan on getting some fast-paced DS games, stick with what you have. Lites use inferior screens which blur more. It's very noticeable in the fast songs in Taiko DS, which becomes a mission just trying to figure out what it is you're reading.

I was always under the impression that the Lite came with the DS browser bundled with it, maybe that makes it worth the move?

Since we're talking broken DS....

My DS's Touch Screen is acting wierd. See, the left half of the screen thinks I'm touching about a half-inch to the left where I'm really touching, but the right half is alright. I tried to recalibrate the screen, but does nothing to fix it. It's the old DS, & I got it the year it came out, so the warrenty is probably void & I'm looking at about $75 if I were to send it to Nintendo. I tried that "get the dirt out under the part covering the Touch Screen" thing & didn't work. I'm hoping I can try to fix it cuz I don't have any money to get a DS Lite & I REALLY want to play Ouendan 2, which I've had for almost 3 months & hardly got to play it (aside from bad grade on Easy...)

Do both. Get a DS Lite, and repair your DS and give it to a sibling/friend/family member to play multiplayer with. Or keep the DS as a backup.

Well it depends if your tight on money. If you have money and need nothing eles ds lite if you are tight on money the repair old one ^_^
