Default I need suggestions on this...

I have an event October 20-24 as mentioned in the Southeast region forums at Charlotte High. I may try to get YouTube videos of Stepmania play but the videos will be on DVD. Is there any programs (I'm thinking of MediaCoder, which is stable now) to convert DVDs to formats YouTube accepts?

There's another question I may ask here. Should I use a big screen tv in the cafe and use that as a speaker & monitor for the computer in the event, or use a projector with generic speakers? The downside for the generic speakers is that even with power, it may not be loud enough for Stepmania to play. If the first is an option, which devices can I use to plug a computer to a television that doesn't have the VGA cables (only HD cables, S-Video, and composite video)? I need answers ASAP.

I find Koyotesoft's Free Video Converter software to be a very quick and efficient tool for converting video files. It supports the .VOB (DVD) format and the .FLV format (which seems to be the quickest to upload to Youtube).

As for the second question, the big-screen TV would probably be the better option of the two, quality-wise (plus it would eliminate the irritating shadows that can sometimes occur when playing w/ a projector on). You can connect the PC to the TV with an S-Video cable (like this one).

Hope that helps to some degree.

For the RCA cables, can they be found in retail stores like RadioShack or Circuit City?

I believe they're sold in electronics stores, yeah (probably in the Home Theatre department or something similar)

I'm heading to Circuit City just to take a look (tried RadioShack but nothing there because it's a small store).

Update: I can't find something similar to the one at Amazon at Circuit City, and I live in Southwest Florida. I guess I can only use a projector with big speakers, then.

Ah, sorry about that. I guess that when I said 'most electronic stores' I specifically had a sort of 'megastore' like Frys in mind. I wasn't really sure about any other stores; sorry about that. I hope your event goes well.

(Also, sorry for late response; I can't find my router and there are no WEP-less connections for me to leech off of anymore )
