Me and my friends usually try to stay somewhat near the edge of technology, so I always seem to be a bit taken back whenever I hear of anybody running a P4 setup with a GeForce 6 or something. I'm just wondering if more people don't stay on top of things as much as other people do.

Harddrive space: 1.1 Terabytes (302 gigs free)

OS: Windows XP Home (because vista sucks )

Monitor: Suck.. 17" lcd

soon i'll be adding a evga 650i nforce ultra, 8800 gts 320mb, core2duo e6320, ocz gamexstream 600w and an antec nine hundred case

my pc atm is actually dire

mobo: soyo kt600 platinum edition, i think.
(AGP) radeon x1600xt or something like that, shit i dont know. I had to upgrade from a geforce fx5600 (that had 256 mb of ram ) with capacitors that leaked shit all over the place.
audigy 2 NX external sound card so i can use it on my laptop too :3
uh, 3 40gb PATA hard drives and one 36 gig 10k raptor. Im gonna get a bigger hard drive sometime sooner or later, i still have 3 open SATA ports.

I don't think you can really call an x800 crappy if it's better than the card you're running. Not to mention I don't have to steal my parts. I'll kept my list to the essentials, didn't feel like boring anybody with a long list. I'll type one up once I get my new rig built up.

I wasn't able to keep my normal upgrade schedule last year because I was halfway across the united states training for my job. So I guess it's not that cutting edge anymore, but still can handle the stuff I play.

I'm running dual screen right now, Dell 24" and a Dell 20". My x800 can handle it so far, I don't see any problems.

and 2 grand eh, a moron would spend that much tbh.

and to that idiot kimcicle, x800 is crap due to no pixel shader 3 support and it only have 12 pixel pipelines, as opposed to having ps3 and 16 pixel pipelines.. go learn about graphics cards plz

well, to be honest, i wouldnt spend a dime more than i had to. And i gotta buy my own shit. So ill stick with my old computer running win2kpro until it breaks the fuck down, thanks.

Ugh, I re-built my old computer at the end of last Fall, replacing pretty much everything except my harddrives, DVD drives and RAM.

Processor: AMD Athelon 64 x2 4200+
Motherboard: ASUS A8N-SLI (damn this thing is versitile)
Ram: 2GB of 'value' RAM. I'd like to have 4GB of nice RAM to cut down on render times.
Video Card: 512meg, RADEON 1950XTX. I bought it when it had just come out, so I got ripped off, but it was the only modern card I could buy at the time
Hard Drive Space: 1x 250gig, 1x 160gig, 1x 80gig
Psu: RAIDMAX 660watt, I think? It's overkill and pumps out way too much heat
Sound Card: onboard, but I have a spare Soundblaster sitting around that I might toss in there for better midi support (hurr hurr)
Mouse: oldschool Alienware microsoft optical mouse
Keyboard: Standard black microsoft keyboard without anything special
Speakers: Logitech stereo something or other with a sub
OS: XP home SP2
Mouse Pad: "...s are for jerks" is the end of that sentance.
Monitor: 19" LCD piece of shit that can't do anything well besides 1280x1024. It's what I use, but I've never had a monitor that was only able to do well in one resolution.

Just out of curiosity but why do u have a radeon on a board that supports SLI? Im 99% sure that there isn't any backwards compatibility with ATI crossfire and Nvidia SLI
