LG CHOCOLATE "?'s"

I need help in understanding what audio file types are supported by the CHOCOLATE I would like to send myself ringtones but so far WAV. WMA. and Mp3 when I though this was an MP3 player!!!!

What kind of audio files does the LG Chocolate use for ring tones? I know it can play MP3's but what does it use to play ring tones.

you have verizon right? im not sure if verizon has locked down your phone where you can only accept ringtones from verizon. if that's not the case, than you can use mp3's, midis, and most likely wavs. (wmas probably)

I am with VERIZON yes. I think I should of just went with the Music Kit it comes with. My friend will lend me his tomorrow so I dont have to pay for it. I was using this one site that would let you upload whatever you liked as long as your phone could play those files. So I go the Chocolate thinking of all the wonderful MP3's ringtones I could have for free, and then I kept getting "file not handles" or something like that.

But I think I figured out what I need. So thanks anyway

Just to clarify, I have a Chocolate and I use an aftermarket cable with BitPim, and BitPim will reencode and help me to cut mp3s to a short enough length for ringtones, and then sends it to it as an mp3. Haven't had any problems with it yet.

You definitely need to download software in order to put the ringtones on your phone. The Music Essentials Kit will not do it.
