Hi, I need a program that will lock .zip files, but will also allow them to be uploaded onto rapidshare or something. I have my reasons :P I've tried google but nothing good comes up, so I was wondering if any of you guys knew any good programs that do this?
Do you mean password protecting them?
You can password them with .rar which is the SAME exact thing.
Minor technicality being you need winRAR to compress into .rar format, which might not be on everyone's PC (I've had it happen too many times. "wuts a rar file????)
Just be sure to specify that it's a .rar document where ever you post your link, etc.
with winrar just right click a file, select add to archive, then the set password should be under the advanced tab. Please note the file names will still be visible unless you encrypt that too.

Note that you need to have the context options clicked for this to be active, putting this out there because I personally hate having 2000 things on my right click.

Self-extracting ".rar"'s are .exe's in reality, people stay away from them like a plague, not without good reason of course.
I'm aware that SFX Archives are EXE files.Aand yeah, I can understand why people would stay away from EXEs. However, if you're distributing something to some friends (which is the assumption I am making), they should be able to trust you enough to believe that you didn't make an executable that will send their credit card numbers to the Nigerians.
