Marketplace Rating: 4 | MAC GET 2007 OK, I thought I would be the last person on this earth to say this, as I'm a former mac user, but then the bet was made.
I agreed to use a Mac for an entire week. No Windows (except my Terminal Server for AIM). My laptop would be completely shut down. My Vista box off. There would be only 2 Windows boxes running in my house during this experiment, My server and a computer hooked to a web cam to web cast me using the Macintosh.
This would occur over Spring Break so I wouldn't be able to completely avoid the Mac.
There are conditions to this however. Neither I or anyone involved in this experiment up to this point have any money. So we are asking for donations. The money would go toward one mac mini, to be purchased and used on camera for an entire week by myself. I will be blogging and web casting this entire event.
So we are asking for the money we need to purchase this Mac Mini. Please help for the hilarity or just the information this could provide, as a former mac user and a computer expert, this has potential to denounce some real myths.
If its a success or at least hilarious, we plan on making it a yearly thing. Please donate.

Really, what's so special about using a mac for a week, my entire school runs off Macs, I run off a mac, it's really not special. I can do just about everything I did on my windows except pirating .exe's. So if you're going to pool donations, you'll have to explain your reason better, because right now it just seems like 'I wanna Mac for the hell of it'.

Its a week of making fun of me, which for the record, the community is a big fan of anyway. And this time they get video footage.
This is proof of the apple myths. if it Just Works. If it makes life easier. Can it work for me? is the mac for everybody? In exchange for the donation, You also get to suggest things I do, You get the hilarity of me struggling to figure out exactly whats going on, and you get the the proof of every apple myth out there. You also get an honest try out of me to use a macintosh for a week.

No, I'm not going to say it, for fear of banning.
But let me say that I support this endeavor. I would donate money, but unfortunately, I have none. But around Spring Break, I will be watching. This'll help put an end to those stupid OSX vs. Vista debates.

The only reason I ever use a Windows machine is to test a website or if I need to log into one of the Windows servers at work. Other than that I have been running OS X for about 3 months now.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | What myths about macs?
1. You can't build your own (lol ship my PC to get it fixed, not).
2. Poor game support.
Outside of that they are just fine, probably better than running a PC, but noone wants to run on one because see 1 and 2.

Macs are for editors.
Windows is for gamers.
Otherwise, fuck it, choose based on finance and fashion taste.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | I also am planning to get a MacBook, because I need a laptop and I feel like it's a good time in my life to have a Mac. ;o It's too bad that this shindig isn't happening sooner, because I'd like to be aware of all the things I ought to know about switching to a Mac before I get one. I'm supposed to be getting it within the next two weeks or so though. Any urgent problems with a Mac I should know about?

Then again, so are Dells and Alienwares. But that's besides the point.
