Well if the exact amount of data is 5gb or close to it I would think focusing on sizing you could winrar it down to fit a dvd maybe.

Or tell winrar to compress it into 700MB blocks for burning to separate CDs, that's always worked for me.

Or better yet, get one of those portable hard drives. I have a 60GB and I don't regret buying it.
