Marketplace Rating: 2 | Nvidia or ATI gfx card emulator? Ok, so I have a Dell Inspirion 6000 with nothing special. 512 MB Ram, a 1.6/ghz Pentium M processor, and just the Intel integrated graphics. This has proven to be extremely slow, and several programs wont boot period. I get the "this program has encountered an error and needs to close" error. I know most desktops wont have this problem, but laptops unfortunately do.
But is there a way for my computer to "think" there is a more powerful gfx card? I am not needing the most powerful thing, just enough to get the thing started. Its not very resource demanding or anything.

Marketplace Rating: 2 | Yes, everything is up to date, including a fresh installation of windows. Like I said, this works perfectly on a desktop. I would like to disclose what I am running, but that would be against the forum rules. Simply, I need this to think it is being run by desktop hardware.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | Hmm ic, yeah finding an emulator for Nvidia or ATI chipsets is elusively hard, you're almost better off trying to reverse engineer the program.

A program to emulate an Nvidia card does exist, but it only works with an equal or greater powered ATI video card.
Even if you could run it, it would eat a ton of your CPU, and whatever it is you're trying to run wouldn't.
Software 3d Drivers tend to eat 99% of the CPU and not look great. the solution is to get a better laptop.

Marketplace Rating: 2 | Thats what I was thinking, well not a laptop. This is good enough for anything but gaming. If I want more, I'll get a desktop. But I have much more important things to pay for than that at the moment.
But the reason I am asking about this here is the fact its Bemani related. If that gives you any idea of what I am running.

Stop being all *wink wink nudge nudge* about it too. It makes you look like a total tool and an asshat. I'm sure that anybody with two braincells could run what you're trying to do given the correct hardware. Which you don't have. | |

Still, when you're stuck with outdated hardware, the only way to fix the problem is a new computer and/or hardware.

I was just determined to get this to work for both me and my friend with a similar computer. Oh well, not everything in life can be free. That might be why they make it the way it is. So people don't pirate everything they make.
But an asshat? thats a new one I haven't heard yet.

Also, even though you didn't explicitly state what you're planning to do with this, you hinted (a little too blatantly) at something that's against the rules here, so I'm locking this.
