Default Problems with my PS3 and My TV

Okay, so I have a Westinghouse (might be off on the brand, but it's something along those lines) LTV19w6 (An LCD TV). It's HD ready, so once I get some cables and stuff, I'll be able to use that instead of the Red-White-Yellow Composite cables. I've pluged it in to the correct port, and I've set the PS3 display setting to Composite, and under 16:9 ratio. Since it's clearly labled as "Widescreen" I assumed it would work. And it did. However, it seems that details are REALLY messed up. Not anything that would harm gameplay, but it's just minor visual things. I can't really explain it, but it just seems off. It's like looking at a picture that's been blown up twice it's original size.

My TV also has a scaling feature, so I switched the settings to 4:3 ratio and turned on scaling, and I got the same thing.

My TV is probably just crap quality, however, if I do get HD Def output cables (RGB I think), would it look any better?

1. Thats becuase it is. It is being scaled up to almost 3 or 4 times its size depending on which high def TV youve got (I didnt look)

2. See number 1.

3. The high def cables should look a shitton better.

Don't worry, it's not just you. All PS3s look like shit with composite hookup, it was MADE to be played in HD.

Well, I think it MIGHT be might TV, it's only like 19 inches (It's originally a 1440x900 rez monitor, but it has several hook-ups for other media sources), however, as soon as I get money I'm getting component cables :/

Dude, my dad just got a new TV, and my Wii looks like shit on it. Attack of the mother-freakin jaggies, yo. It's because I don't even have components yet. Get the components, and your video quality will increase significantly. Oh, make sure you've got the resolution bumped up to as high as your TV can support too.
