Default Sata install issue

I'm having serious trouble that's aggrivating me to no end.

My sata HD connector (the one that plugs into the HD) does not fit properly, on the left side it does not slide down. What can I do? It's the correct connector (I'm not a moron) and I'm thinking it's a piece of plastic that fits into a groove that's too tight a fit.

I'm gonna let it sit for a little bit, it's possible that the plastic casing around the HD shrunk a little from colder air in the room it was stored (nothing serious, but it was cold when I touched it)

Any advice?

yeah, I figured. thanks, and it turns out the transfer rates of 300 mb/s aren't compatable, only 150 is (with my Mobo chipset, WD didn't even mention it in the manual) so a quick change of jumpers and I have a whole new 300 gigs for torrents.

It's shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiny
