So what exactly is new about the Vista that XP doesnt have that justifies 450 dollars? Is it a brand new programming architecture, what does it have that Xp doesn't have? NOTHING USES 128 gigabytes of ram. Except servers. But if your running a server I don' t think Vista is the best one to go with.

The only breakthrough is that it uses a 64 bit architecture which is up to date with the new processers and all, but I think win xp x64 does that too. The upgrade from win xp to win xp x64 is like 80 bucks

Mmm i think that waiting time is more caused by a hard drive loading data onto the memory and verifying network client etc. I dont think more ram would solve that problem

I play Battlefield 2 a lot. I like being the sniper and when were losing i become the special forces guy. I like C4 Jeeping

C4 Jeeping - Load a vehicle full of C4 preferrably a fast one, humvee, buggy or ATV. Drive it up to a tank. Jump out, then blow. A true car bomb. Most appropriately done when playing as the Iraqis.

It pisses people off sometimes and sometimes I get kicked from a server for 30 minutes for doing that.

INCORRECT. Macs are far more expensive, even if the operating system is cheaper.

As for Vista's features, here's what I know:

-Capable of using free space on USB flash drives as extra RAM (yes, RAM).
-Has a Windows "Glass" feature, which does something involving applications currently in use, but I don't remember what exactly. I couldn't quite figure out what it would be useful for, and that much I remember.
-Updated interface (so navigation is not as crappy as XP)
-REQUIRES A 40 GB HARD DRIVE WITH 15 GB FREE. Which elicited a "holy crap" from me.
-Requires 512 RAM, recommends 1 GB or more.

So with these technical requirements and a $450 price tag for the "Ultimate" version, I'm curious to see what Microsoft is doing here.

No I mean that most of the time the prices are cheaper in the U.S.

Windows Xp retail was cheaper in the U.S. than in Canada.
