Marketplace Rating: 2 | Vista problem (BSoD wooo) Alright, I'm not expecting a whole lot of help on this one, but you never know.
I recently installed Vista Ultimate. Despite my computer having a AMD Athlon 64 3400+ (2.19ghz) and only 1gb of ram (pc3200) I am able to run Vista pretty smooth. Every once and a while though, I get a BSoD. It pops up saying something, but I cant read it. It only lasts about 2 seconds then the computer restarts. At the bottom though it says "Dumping the memory" or something along those lines and then there is a number to the right that increases, usually to around 100.
Any thoughts on what might be causing this? I was thinking my cpu could be getting over worked, but then it happened today when I wasn't doing anything.

Marketplace Rating: 2 | Really? Why would the video card be doing this?
Also, I forgot to mention the installing of Alcohol 120% sent my machine into an infinite loop of BSoD'ing.

The only reason I suggest this is because I've been having BSOD problems on XP for the last few months, and couldn't trace the source until I did this (I found out one of the .sys files related to my sound drivers was corrupted... never would have found out otherwise).

That windbg thing says: Could not create process "C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP", Win32 error 5. Access is denied.
But I did find out that it was a .sys file. I believe something like Win32.sys But I don't know what exactly that could entail.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | You mind if I take a look at the memory dump file? I've found WinDBG to be somewhat flakey... it'll misbehave on one system but work perfectly fine on another, despite having the same config settings in both. I might be able to pull up some information without invoking the Win32 error that you got.

Marketplace Rating: 2 | Ok, now every time it crashes it says that the reason was "Memory Management" toward the top of the screen.
I still haven't been able to open the memory.dmp
It also seems like it's crashing a lot more now.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Okay, I lost my secondary HDD earlier this week (where the memory dump was saved), and I'm not going to be able to reclaim any data from it. As well, Yousendit is saying that the link has already expired, which doesn't help.
If you're still interested in this, mind resending it?
