Default Wallpaper Corrected Aspect Ratio

My dad uses family photos for desktop wallpapers and recently downgraded from Vista to XP. Apparently Vista has a feature that will reduce the size of a photo to fit the desktop while keeping aspect ratio. As far as I know, XP has no such feature. Is there some third-party program that can resize an image without distorting it on the fly before setting it as a wallpaper?

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP

microsoft has a addon that allows for easy resizing.

I believe it's called "Image Resizer".

I was hoping there was a tool that could resize an image to desktop size and apply it as a wallpaper in one step. You see, my parents don't like all that "work" that comes with things like these.

Can you change the ratio for your camera's pictures? Unless you're using some alien resolution and not 4:3 or 16:9, you should be fine...
