Default Welcome to the Computers & Technology Forum (RULES THREAD, READ THIS)

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Computers & Technology forum on Bemanistyle. I'll be your resident moderator for this forum, Phuzion. Before you begin posting anything in this forum, I'd just like to point out a few things just to make things easier on me, the other mods, and to reduce the amount of problems that may arise if these things are not addressed.

The DO'S:

-Discuss and ask questions about computers, the internet, hardware, software, and other computer related material.
-Discuss and ask questions about programming, web development, code, building code, and so on.
-Discuss and ask questions about MP3 players, DVR's, game consoles (on a more technical side, not like "will the ps3 come with a HDMI cable") and other gadgets.
-Discuss and ask questions about TV's, home theater setups, and so on.
-Discuss and ask questions about soldering, breadboarding, circuitmaking, and all that kind of stuff.
-Be civil.
-Answer, or at least try to answer, people's questions in the forum.
-Use Google.

The DON'T'S:

-Microsoft vs. Linux vs. Mac OS vs. Some Obscure Chinese Operating System debates are not allowed. They are just like console wars, they don't do anything except piss people off at each other. If you want to argue about one of these issues, start your own IRC channel (which is easy), or find a forum that allows these types of debates.
-Don't discuss pornography here.
-Don't ask where to get pirated materials.
-Don't tell where to get pirated materials.
-Don't go hostile at someone because you use Debian and they use Ubuntu because its a copy of Debian and Debian is obviously so much more 1337 than Ubuntu. (You get the point)
-Don't purposely mislead someone to false information.

I reserve the right to issue infractions to anyone who decided to break any of these rules, or any rule that isn't stated here.

But I'd just like to point out here, that things will most likely be pretty lenient in here, unless someone starts breaking rules left and right. I want this forum to be a place where you can openly discuss what you want about technology. So, have fun and everything, and be sure to help people out when you can.

If you need to contact me regarding something in this forum (such as a spammer or a discussion getting way out of hand), please contact me via PM.

DISCLAIMER: I, nor any of the other members that post in this forum, are liable for anything that you do to your computer. If you lose valuable data because someone gave you faulty information, you are still the person who did said action to your computer. This means that you are responsible for what you do to your computer. If someone says the only way to remove spyware from your PC is to delete the Windows directory, I will issue infractions for intentionally misleading a user, however, I, nor any other site/staff member, will be blamed for what you did to mess up your computer further. This is here just in case.

===IRC CONNECTION ISSUES===
If you are having trouble connecting to the IRC server here at Bemanistyle, try using an SSL encrypted connection, on the ports 6697 and 9999. You can use an alternate port by adding a colon and the port number immediately after the server address. For example, the SSL encrypted port on irc.bemanistyle.com would be accessable from irc.bemanistyle.com:6697 or irc.bemanistyle.com:9999.

Please note that you have to have an SSL enabled IRC client in order for these to work properly. mIRC is a common Windows client that has SSL encryption support.

Click here or here to connect to one of those encrypted ports.

Alternatively, you can connect to another server in the network, phoenix, which is hosted generously by Moo, again with SSL encryption, on port 443 by clicking here. The address for it is phoenix.popn.cjb.net:433, for those of you who insist on typing it in yourself. If for some reason, you aren't able to connect to the Bemanistyle server, it's worth a shot to try to connect to phoenix.

for actual requests, you should make a new thread. replies to this thread should be reserved for questions regarding the forum itself.

to answer your question, though: FRAPS show fps, record video game movies, screen capture software

Erm, not as fact, but as strong suggestion.

I know stuff, but I'm not all-knowing. I can make mistakes (hello Socket A + AGP how are you today). But I kinda hope that through my input that some don't repeat mistakes that I made).
