It is pretty slow, especially high quality videos. But slower than dial-up I'm not so sure... I don't know...

Youtube has a flash front-end for videos and Chrome has all kinds of problems with flash in case you didn't notice.

I agree with this when you want to view videos with the high quality option.

It usually takes twice the time in order for the download stream to be complete.

Let's say the video that you want to view is three minutes long.

Therefore, you can expect that it will take six minutes for the stream to be completed

Maybe YT is so slow because it has soo many videos that are absolute shit. I think the YT staff should simply delete videos that are less than 10 seconds, and ones where you're just watching someone's face move for 4+minutes.

Which I hope is an issue that will be addressed and should be addressed.

That's why I think I selected that option wherein it allows Google to collect technical data from my browser and whatnot (as part of being a beta tester)

I assume Google already knows about this issue already (no?)

This was the same issue that plagues my IE 6.0 browser (plus those stupid Macromedia Flash script is causing bla bla to load error messages and dialog boxes).

So yes, I do hope that it does get fixed.

I don't think it's just Chrome anymore, I'm using FF3.0.3 and YouTube videos aren't loading fast enough to keep up with the videos, and the thing looks like it's loading at random times, when the loaded bar is past that point. It could be my connection though...
