Apparently this file is missing or corrupted on my best friend's compooter and he's too much of a jackass to figure it out by himself and too stubborn to scrap everything and reinstall windows.

Ok ok, he's not stubborn about reinstalling windows but he want's to know if he can salvage something before needing to start from scratch.

But yeah one of you smarty-pants people help us.

How to rebuild the Windows boot.ini

I got this error myself before but I forgot exactly what I did to fix it. This might do it until then.

If you repair windows, rather than reinstalling it, it will save all your stuff and you won't lose anything. This is possible in Win 2k and later

Well it will reset all your windows settings back to the default but, your music, pictures, movies, files, games should all still be there and work.

Oh. This will also remove your registry. so all your programs and games that are there wont work, and youll be worse off 90% of the time than you were before. do it to save your files then blank it.
