I told my friend to use whatismyip.com and we got what I'm sure of is our real IP address. Problem is, we don't know how to force Zsnes to use the IP address reported by whatismyip.
I'm on Windows 2000 and my friend is on XP. I would like to get the process for BOTH computers. Also what doesn't kind of help is that while most likely my friend is directly connected to her modem, my 2000 is connecting to a range extender which is connecting to a wireless router that is connected to my DSL modem. =\
Please do help. | Reenee, the problem is youre using your internal IP addresses.
Home routers use whats known as NAT Overloading to turn 1 IP address into many. Otherwise known as PAT.
What this does, is the router turns the external IP Address of your connection, say... 5.7.3.1 and turns it into a non routeable IP address (192.168.x.x)
what you need to do on both machines, is forward the port for ZSNES (no idea) to the computer, and then connect to eachother's EXTERNAL ip address, which can be found by going to WhatIsMyIP.com
