Total Tokens: 198,595.17 Donate Tokens | XBox Display Problems? Sat down to play Assassins Creed just now, and I suddenly got weird colours on the screen. I could still see the image but, like I said, colours are weird. I turned the console off and on again, and I was welcomed with an XBox 360 system error message and one of the lights went red. If I restart again, it boots normally, but after about a minute of gameplay, the colours go again. I haven't tried it with other games. My brother was playing Devil May Cry 4 most of today, and he didn't have any problems.
Pictures, sorry they're crap, but it's the best I could do.
You can't see the colours in the images, but you can make out some of the cross-like patterns across the screen. Has anyone else had these problems? Is it something that can be fixed or do I have to give M$ a call?

I'll have to give my friend a call, he sold me the console and he's got the warrenty. (I hope)

I have to ring Microsoft anyway I guess.

After spending 8 minutes on hold and spending £7 ($14) on phone credit some woman who I couldn't understand told me that I had to pay £60 ($120) for a repair.
Should I just get an Elite, or is there another version coming out?

Has the actual console red ringed, or is it just the display problem? They'll charge for repairs if it isn't a Red Ring issue.
The only reason to buy an Elite (IMO) is the larger hard drive and the color. Here in the US, all levels of the 360s have the HDMI port, which would have been the biggest selling point of the Elite.

Total Tokens: 198,595.17 Donate Tokens | Mine doesn't have HDMI, but I may as well get the up to date version if possible.
Also, I contacted my friend and he said it should still be under warranty, as it had the RRoD previously. He said he might try to claim for it himself and see if the outcome is any different.
I'll keep you posted | |
