Default FS: (2) Red Octane Afterburner 2.0 Pads

I just bought two Red Octane Afterburner 2.0 Pads that I want to sell:

Afterburner-20-Metal-Dance-Pad-with-Support-for-Wii (Red Octane Site)

They sell for $199.99 each on the Guitar Hero site but I got them off of their Ebay store for $179.99 each. They no longer sell the Afterburner 1.0 pad that used to sell for $139.99. The 2.0 version of the pad works with XBox, PS2, Wii, and PC (1.0 version of the pad didn't support the Wii).

I just received the pads two days ago, and played on them for a couple of hours the past two nights. I didn't really like the feel of them, and the panels are recessed a bit much for my taste (I like to shuffle step when I play). It's for these reasons that I want to sell them. They're not defective in any way, all the sensors work perfectly, control boxes work perfectly (although I've only tried on PC). I had no issue with the sensitivity of the arrows, if I stepped on an arrow it registered accurately with no ghost steps or misses due to the pads themselves.
I think if you'd have no issue with the panels being recessed more, then these would be good pads for you.

The shipper was kind enough to make a small dent on one edge of one of the pads (included in the pics link to come), but this didn't affect the pad's functioning in any way and it wouldn't cause any issue with gameplay or longevity of the pad in general.

My Pads FS Pics

Due to the issues I've had with shipping companies (they've screwed up in some way pretty much every larger package that's been shipped to me), I'm not going to ship these, they are for local pickup only. This is a good thing though in some ways, as if you're local, you can come to my place and check them out and see what you think before you buy. I would like to sell both pads to one buyer, but will sell separately if people are interested in only one. I'm in Clementon, NJ, for anyone who is interested, I can PM you my address and setup a time for you to come out and see them.

Price for each pad separately is $150. Price for both pads to one buyer is $280. These prices are low and firm and I'm already taking quite a loss on them. If I can't get at least this much for them, I'll either try to mod them so that they're playable for me, or I'll just pack them up and put them in storage.

Since, this stuff is for local pickup, payment could be done either via Paypal in advance, or you could just bring cash when you come to get them.

I'll be crossposting this to SOWS as well.

Thanks for looking.

Update...I did the sheet metal and foam board mod on one of the pads and it made it much more playable. The arrow panels are no longer overly recessed and the mod can be reversed to the stock condition of the pad with no issue. Price is the same as already posted for either pad, modded or unmodded and both are still for sale.

Do you want one or both pads? If only one, do you want the modded one or original one?

I'm interested in one pad, particularly the modded pad. Just a few questions:

1. Do you have a problem with the pads moving around at all during gameplay?
2. And do they bend/strain much? I own a TX-1000 and both of these are factors as to why I quit using the pad.

afterburners have dense foam on the bottoms of them so movement isn't usually a problem on any surface, if problems do arise then you need to buy a sheet of rubber or something if you're using it on a hard surface to keep it from moving

afterburners do not bend or strain at all even after heavy use, TX-1000s are probably some of the worst made metal pads in history so afterburners are probably going to feel like a dream come true to you

Pretty much what Lain said. Only thing I saw is on carpet using just one pad there is some movement but not anything that would hinder gameplay imo. You could always get an anti-fatigue mat or whatever to help any movement.

*Bump*...I still have these and don't use them. Dropping price for each pad separately to $135. Price for both pads to one buyer is $250. Again, local pickup only (ZIP = 08021) and I did the sheet metal mod to one of the pads.

I really want one of these, but it looks like there's no chance of sending internationally... right?

shipping would be insanely high on an item like this so it probably wouldn't be worth it

Yeah, what Lain said, it would probably cost more than the pads are worth for the shipping, plus I have no confidence in the shipping companies not damaging them.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. Unfortunately, it's the only option I have here in New Zealand. If you were interested though, I'd be willing to pay about $500US shipped for the two. Just throwing it out there. :P

I still have the original boxes that these were shipped in, it was a separate box and shipment for each pad, and would be the same getting them to you. My real fear beyond the obscene shipping cost for you, would be my feeling that the shipping company would damage them in transit (again one pad has a small dent on the side thanks to the shipping company just sending them to me within the U.S.A.).

I just don't want to see you receive them damaged and be unhappy and have issues with them. I can look into what it would take to ship them to you, please PM me your exact address and I'll find out. I know there's also some customs BS that needs to be dealt with also in shipping internationally. Again I fear the shipping company would damage them, but if you're willing to take on that risk, perhaps I could do it. All that being said, I would package them as securely as possible in order to prevent that from occurring.
