Marketplace Rating: 3 | I don't know what these are worth because only a few end up on eBay, but I'd be fairly interested in just the console. Did you have a price you're looking for at all? I don't want to toss out a low-ball because I don't know exactly how rare these things actually are.
Also, what's needed for a UK Xbox to work safely in the US?

In Europe we use 220 V where I believe you use 110 V, so I guess you need a stepdown ( stepup ? ) converter of some kind.

Marketplace Rating: 3 | How much do stepdown converters cost? And isn't there some video difference with the PAL stuff and US TVs?Ever have problems with the Xbox/has it ever been softmodded/know what type of drive is in there?
Don't mean to ask so many damn questions but I like to be informed before thinking about spending money, hah.

I am afraid I can't help you with the type of drive inside.
I don't think there will be any PAL / NTSC issue - cause I have been playing both European PAL games and US NTSC games on the Xbox since the chip was installed without any problems on my TV and projector.
Softmod ? I don't even know what that is so I guess not...

Softmod ? I don't even know what that is so I guess not... | Softmod is installing the emulation software/whathaveyou on the HD directly. If you're playing Stepmania on it it's been softmodded to some extent. And you mentioned a chip, so this does have something modified on it?
I was under the impression that European TVs had something different about them and might cause video issues. I've never done PAL shit before, so I don't know crap about what it takes to get them going in the US. I'm just looking for an unmodded Xbox that I can pop my softmod HD into for media center purposes. I'm sick of unscrewing mine and swapping HDs every time I want to play on Live. I think I'll just look for a plain Xbox around here, it'll be cheaper anyway.

Let me know if you change your mind - but you are right, it would be cheaper to just buy a unmodded US Xbox.

I don't know about the US, but in Europe it was launced in 3 special editions - green, blue, and crystal.

I could be wrong, but I think I'm pretty sure that was true. Or something similar.

Marketplace Rating: 3 | There have been PLENTY of non-black Xbox systems over the years that are legit. This is one of them. Europe and Japan got a lot of special edition ones, and all we really got was the Halo 2 green and the Mountain Dew giveaway edition. Japan had a Crystal and Clear blue for DOA or something, I believe, among a few others. Europe had a couple of colors too. They sell crystal controllers packaged individually as well, I believe.
Would you be interested in Best Buy money, by any chance? I have a $100 gift card. (worth a shot to ask).
