Default IC: Audio Technica SQ5 headphones (new, opened)

MAJOR EDIT: Audio Technica SQ5s are NO LONGER INTEREST CHECKING/FOR SALE.
Replacement, WTS:

AKG K 414 P headphones.

- closed-back design
- frequency: 12-28.000
- impedance (ohms): 32
- cable: 5', terminating to a right-angle jack, 3.5mm plug.

my thoughts:
- they're small cans (marketed as a mini-headphone), but the sound is really huge. Strong bass presence (great for electronica), and the headphones seal well - great isolation. The metal band may be a little tight for you, but it's adjustable. You can tweak it if it's too tight for you.

why I'm selling these:
- I have too many headphones at the moment (do I really need three pairs?) and I'm just eager to de-clutter my room. Out of the three I own though, these DO have the deepest (while not overbearing) sound. So basically crank the Taka, LED, kors-k, whoever, and you're good to go.

Retail is around 50, not including shipping. I'm asking $35, SHIPPED.

Oh damn, if I hadn't bought headphones recently, I'd be all over these. Good luck with the sale.

To be honest, they're different headphones for different purposes. If I'm home or in a quiet space, the Grados are what I'd be using. They're open, so they wear easily for a long time, and the soundstage is great - these Grados are really top of the line, value wise. But if I'm outside or in a bus/car/plane, I'd grab the SQ5s because of the isolation/circum-aural aspect - the Grados are sort of a wash when you introduce outside sounds.

If the SQ5s were magically made into open headphones however, I think the Grados would still edge them out a bit in terms of quality and balance. The SQ5s aren't the bassiest of 'phones (this is something that I like, too much bass makes me feel weird).

Again, this is just an interest check...not totally wanting to part just yet...

I'm less and less wanting to sell these, but I just had a question:
Why would you be looking for headphones with HIGHER impedance? Are you wanting to use your next set of headphones with a headphone amp at all times?
