WTB: Keyboardmania controller

Title says it all. Looking for a working official PS2 KBM controller. If you're within the USA, that's great, because it will make shipping quite a bit easier on me. If you have the original box for the controller, that's even better.

I've heard that these aren't too rare in Japan, and I found one on Yahoo! Auctions Japan for 2,000 yen bundled with KBM 1st Mix... Albeit, it has 4 days left, but please don't try to rip me off here.

Edit: And, yes, I'm aware that controller bundle won't stay at 2,000 yen, but I pretty clearly remember somebody saying that these aren't at all hard to get ahold of in Japan. (Pker...?)

When my GF was in Japan a few months ago she asked if I wanted a KBM controller that she found for 5000 yen. Not sure if it was boxed but that might give an idea of the cost these days, though I am sure that it could be found cheaper on an online auction place!

Shame I didn't get that controller as she had no room left in her bag....

In all honesty, many games/controllers are cheap as hell in Japan. I remember paying $150 for DM at one point a while back. My friend is in Japan now and looking around stores and said that a DM KOC with game is like $40 usd (give or take, I'm not positive I'm remembering this figure 100%).

On top of that, ancient stuff like DDR 1st mix was like $8 usd.

Your best bet would be to either use Yahoo! auctions japan or have a friend in Japan look around for you.

I'll see if the friend I have looking around for me is interested in looking for this for you and picking it up.

Thanks, although that might not be neccessary. I have a guy from VJA on the case, and I'd feel awful if your friend picked something up and I couldn't pay for it.

I would also suggest looking through Yahoo! Japan (Rinkya) -- you can generally find some good prices on KBM controllers there (it's where I picked up my second KBM controller, in good condition, boxed and everything), although be prepared to pay shipping through the nose. It's a large item, so it does cost extra to ship. About $40 extra, as I recall, and that's still shipping by regular mail (takes a month or so)... EMS shipping would probably be crazy.

The problem is Rinkya DOUBLE charges for shipping. Use something else. Do a quick search, there are a LOT of Japanese Proxy Bidders.

I got my KBM controller shipped to the US via EMS for $15...

To be perfectly honest, erm, I couldn't care a whole lot less about owning legit copies of the games. -_-;;; At least not yet (maybe/probably in time). So for now, I'm going to stay away from the proxy bidding unless Pker fails me... Thanks for the tips, though, everyone!

Don't know if you're still looking, but one has popped up on EBay - current bid is $51.00+$10.00 shipping, ending in a little over a day. (The games have also been put up by the same seller.)

Otherwise, good luck - I consider myself lucky to have picked one up as part of a big bundle when I was first obtaining home Bemani.
