Nop, it's an actually Sega Saturn pad designed for the Playstation. These are the best pads to use with fighters

Wouldn't the best pad for a fighter be an arcade stick? I only bring it up because I know playing Radiant Silvergun on a Saturn controller is flat out impossible because I keep killing myself like a dumbass. It just seems like the buttons are too spread out; does it really work that well?

Yeah an arcade stick is a lot better in my opinion, but I see a 'Pad' as a controller such as a Dual Shock, and an Arcade stick as an arcade stick.

And yeah for some reason the button spacing on a Saturn pad just feels perfect for fighters, but hard to play normal games.

Also the D-Pad on the Saturn controller is excellent for pulling off 236/214 or 623/421 motions.

Don't they have PS2 controllers that look like Saturn controllers that came out around the release of SF:AC?

I think you can find these at any Gamestop.

The screen wills spin and battle music will start to play. You and drunk friends will be forced to stand in a line rocking back and forth holding over sized swords. A group of retarded looking monsters will appear and you will take turns hitting each other. When it is all over you will get 648 Gil and a fire ring. Why the 12 foot tall monster with no hands had a fire ring that fits everyone from you to your grandma will still be mystery to man.

Also, the Saturn controller had 6 face buttons, so you aren't having to map buttons to the shoulders. It makes a lot of sense than having to remember what you did map to the face buttons and what you mapped to the shoulders.

AmazingKenchan: You might be thinking about the analog Saturn controller rather than the pad? The PS2 Saturn controller is also based off the revision 2 controller pad, which is a little smaller and the buttons a little better spaced and placed.

I would love to be able to play fighting games on a Saturn controller again.

That's probably what I'm thinking of. I don't own a Saturn so I don't really have too much experience with it, just practicing RSG at a friend's place. The 6-button idea makes a lot of sense though, so I can definitely see the value now.

If you are looking for those pads you might want to act fast, because I think they went are putting them all on clearence and trying to get rid of their stock. I was at my local gamestop the other day and they were selling the 2 new ones for $5 a piece... I would've jumped on that but they were for the X-Box and not the PS2...

These controllers are AWFUL!...

The D-Pad sucks, the buttons feel shit, and the controller is huge!!

if you want something close to the Saturn pad DO NOT buy one of these.

Also playing other games such as Guilty Gear XX on these is a nightmare. False Roman Canceling on these is near impossible in a match.

I was just saying. I didn't know how they worked.

It's OK, I'm not putting the heat on you. I'm just warning people that the Anniversary controller is nothing like the Saturn pad. I made the same mistake and was extremely disappointed.
