Marketplace Rating: 0 | 2 Questions, Recently i have just brought myself a jap iidx controller, and ive been reading about the turntable mod, i have been planning to do it, but i cant find any wax paper anywhere around the house (dont live in us, so theres no circuit city) is there any other paper which i can use which is the same as wax paper? i have some.... baking/cooking paper..?
if all else fails i shall go off to the nearest safeway (down here in australia) and buy some.
also
on the controller, near the wire part theres a thing which u can connect a cable or something in it? anyone know what it does? cant understand that yellow sheet u get with the controller...
thank you

Marketplace Rating: 0 | im pretty sure you can use an alternative to the wax paper, but if you want the best results, id say you should stick to the wax paper, but im pretty sure the baking/cooking paper should do you some good if your in a hurry and just want to get that nice arcade like feel
as for the hole, you can find the answer here : Comprehensive IIDX FAQ + Controller Tutorials

I thought the turntable mod was for the US version of the controller. The JP's controller has a good turntable. I think it's the keys that need the mod.
Oh well. If you think it needs modding, go ahead.
And yeah, that would be awesome to be able to plug in headphones. Why would they put that port on there, but more strangly, why the heck is it in the US version of the controller?

Oh well. If you think it needs modding, go ahead. | The turntable mod was devised like two years before IIDX US was even announced.
Both types of KOCs can benefit from a slipmat mod IMO.

But you should be able to find wax paper at any supermarket or convenience store (I'm not sure what they have for stores in Australia).

Marketplace Rating: 0 | It's only racist if you use it in hate. As RevenG said, it's EXACTLY like the term "nigger". Hell, those self-proclaimed pollitically correct people who use "African American" to 'label' black people are more racist than they think. Obviously all black people currently live in America *and* came from Africa.
/ 2 cents, go back to topic

Marketplace Rating: 0 | oh sorry, i wrote jap because it was much shorter then japanese (looking at the box with all the katakana writing on it) shoulda just stuck with a KOC
didn't know that "jap" was racist though, because in Australia (well where i live anyway) i use it all the time, never in a bad way though,
for e.g
chinks = Chinese
honkies = Pople form Hong Kong
viets = Vietnamese
skips = Caucasians (donno why they are called skips)
Loserbait is right when he says its only racist when you use it in hate, im no racist but i just think its shorter and easier to say, sorry for the trouble it caused
anyway back to the topic, the KOC feels stiff when i first got it, buttons are fine at the moment,but is it recommended to do the mod too? im scared im gonna screw up the circuits (looks way harder then the turntable mod).

Marketplace Rating: 15 | You wont screw up the circuits modding the keys. Just dont mess with the board you have no need to. And yes you should mod the keys on the JKOC. After about 2 or 3 weeks of play they get absolutely horrible. So just grab a shoe box and go at it with the keys.

Marketplace Rating: 15 | It's ok though because you're from Australia And yes i think referring to someone as a Jap is a little on the bigot side, but when referring to an inanimate object such as the controller I don't think its that big of a deal.
