Another U.S. IIDX/Beatmania Release?

I know I could have just looked through the threads and got the answer to this.

Will there EVER be another IIDX/Beatmania release???

Ppl complain about the lack of popularity, it's because IIDX isn't "pick up n' play"., When I mention it to someone.....the same response every time...."I've never heard of that".....they don't even advertise for it.....how TF are you going to get something noticed if you don't even post a Magazine ad?

I swear, I'd buy like 10 copies if they did release another!!!

I doubt it. I'd like to see popularity of IIDX go up in the US, but let's be honest. Most gamers (in the US) nowadays expect to be able to beat a game easily. IIDX's difficulty curve is too steep for most people. Konami's not really losing any money either, because anyone serious about the game in the US just imports anyway.

That's what people who regularly played did - especially when the price went down to about 2 dollars. They bought like 30 copies of BMUS just for the controller.

They were making IIDX GOLD US for the arcades, they've been showing it since early this year. One article on this very site used to mention that IIDX GOLD US would actually be released by the end of the year, but that section was later removed.

As for a home version, current signs point to no. I wish I can buy a beatmania game without having to spend almost 70 dollars on the game alone, but still, Konami has no plans whatsoever. Unless it's going to be their surprise announcement at Konami Summer/Fall/Never BBQ.

A second game would be pretty awesome if they made the song list longer for IIDX and maybe less 1 stars on 5k. Jam Jam Reggae so awesome, two minutes less than 50 combo!

If American IIDX arcade releases actually get made (and by all indications it sounds like they are), I'd be pretty confident that home releases would accompany those. Maybe not "arcade equivalent" home releases, but at least ports or compilations to keep interest up.

Well I did cant confirm what Ryan said, because KONAMI is all hush hush on future releases, but like I said before the IIDX GOLD machine is still coming out, it was delayed. He also said that someone started the rumor that the game was never coming out, and thats why everyone got worried, but dont sue me if I am wrong, i am just passing along what he said...
